Yarn: KnitPicks Stroll Handpainted in Juice Box |
Luckily, these were travel socks so there isn't a standard pattern that I had to follow for them. It is just a plain vanilla sock with a one inch cuff. They are really comfy and-while not as soft as my Felici socks-feel like they will be very durable.
Somehow, the yarn cooperated quite nicely and didn't do any strange pooling on the socks as I had hoped for. True, there is a little pooling on the cuffs and on the narrowing of the gusset, but other than that the colors settled down into little stripes that mimicked the skein rather nicely. At first that annoyed me to bits, but it does make for a good looking pair of socks.
Now it is time to finish the wedding shawl that I've been making for my friend. Hopefully, I'll be able to get it finished and get the pattern put up within the next month since I've been making good time on my projects.
Lovely, they look comfy as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you! They are really comfy. I wore them to work today and they held up well. Now all I have to do is test them with the other work for wear because one of my jobs is more of a desk job while I'm standing all the time for the second one.
DeleteI'm pretty faithful to my projects as well. I have one biggy and one quick one on the go at any time. When I have occasionally had 3 projects on the go I start to stress out. Like me, you've found fewer projects means more finished projects. Keeping something waiting in the wings actually spurs me on to finish whatever I am working on.
ReplyDeleteThe only trouble I find is finding the motivation to keep going on with a big project. I think I just find it to knit a shawl when I am in full-blown sock mood.
